One of the primary challenges our clients face is the lack of reliable transportation, which often acts as a barrier to accessing care. To address this issue, BASIC recently acquired a transportation van dedicated to supporting clients with their medical transportation needs. This service ensures timely access to BASIC’s services and those provided by our partner organizations. Additionally, we offer assistance to homeless clients, helping facilitate their relocation to temporary accommodations.
Our transportation program plays a vital role in improving clients’ access to care and essential support services, preventing interruptions or delays that could negatively impact their health outcomes. By providing dependable transportation, we enhance their ability to receive timely assistance.
Due to the high demand and substantial distances within our service areas, this service is currently prioritized as a last resort for those with no other means of transportation. Since its launch in May 2023, we have successfully provided a total of 324 units of transportation.
