In Loving Memory of Butch McKay

Butch McKay was the kind of person whose impact was often felt before it was fully understood. Through his unwavering support for more than 37 years, sometimes given quietly, sometimes without even realizing the depth of it, he stood beside those who needed it most. His tenacious advocacy for people affected by HIV/AIDS made a real difference, not because he sought recognition, but because he genuinely cared.

Butch showed us that allyship doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes it looks like consistency. Sometimes it looks like showing up again and again. His commitment, compassion, and refusal to look away helped create space for dignity, understanding, and hope.
