Panhandle Advocacy Community Efforts Plus (PACE+) will build a broader coalition, of five partners, to advance more scientifically based reproductive health education in all entities addressing sexual health. This coalition will oversee consumer training, for at least ten people, that presents the local faces of HIV, other STIs and unintended pregnancies through individual story presentations to interested parties such as churches, parent and teacher groups, etc. Those trained, form a speaker advocacy partnership to build a broader grassroots effort to change how sexual education is presented to youth. PACE+ is built upon an enhanced educational approach incorporating “Abstinence, Be Faithful, Use Condoms,” (ABC) with effective interventions which are based upon developing skills for sexual negotiation, peer pressure resistance, self pride, and ownership of one’s decision. This program is funded by AIDS United-Southern REACH.
